This year's National Lifespan Respite Conference, Illuminate Respite, is hosted by the ARCH National Respite Network in collaboration with the New York State Caregiving and Respite Coalition (NYSCRC) and the New York State Office for the Aging. The conference will be held at the Buffalo Grand Hotel (previously the Adams Mark), beginning the evening of April 30  through May 2, 2019.

The Lifespan Respite Grantee and Partner Learning Symposium will precede the conference on April 30, 2019, with a private reception for Lifespan Respite Grantees, Partners and invited guests the evening of April 29, 2019. (Learning Symposium and April 29th reception by invitation only; requires separate registration -- see below).

Conference Registration

Specially discounted early registration rates for ARCH Members and Non-Members will be available until March 31, 2019. NY residents have no deadline for discounted rates.

The public, including ARCH paid members, New York residents, invited Presenters, and non-members, may register here with a credit card that will be processed through PayPal or you may pay by check. If you pay by check or money order, please register online, print invoice and send payment to:

Conference Registration Discounts:

Paid ARCH Member Discount. To join ARCH, visit the membership page or you can join during the registration process. If you are a current paid member, log in with your email address and password to receive the discounted rate automatically.

New York Resident Discount. If you are a New York resident, you can receive a special code to register by contacting Doris Green with the NYSCRC at DGreen@lifespan-roch.org.

New York Caregiver Resource Center Staff Discount. Register as NY-CRC if you are a NY State Area Agency on Aging staff and/or family caregiver instructed by the New York State Office for Aging to be considered for reimbursement of conference related expenses using Caregiver Resource Center (CRC) funds. If you need the registration code, contact Deana.Prest@aging.ny.gov.

Conference Presenter Discount. If you submitted a presentation proposal and your proposal is accepted, you will receive a discount code at the time of notification. You will need the code to receive your conference discount. If the proposal includes more than one presenter, only you and up to two (2) co-presenters listed on the presenter application are entitled to and will receive the discount code.


Hotel Reservations

The Buffalo Grand Hotel (previously the Adams Mark), at 120 Church St, Buffalo, NY, is the venue for this event. See the map below for directions.

Special discounted conference rates of $129 per night (plus 13.75% per room per night tax) are available for the nights of April 26, 2019 - May 3, 2019. This rate is for single or double occupancy. Internet access is free in guest rooms.

The room block will be available until March 30, 2019. However, please note that discounted room rates in the block may sell out before this date. Please make your reservations as soon as possible.

The best way to check on availability and make a hotel room reservation is online. Visit the online Conference Hotel Reservation website. If you must call the Hotel for reservations, please dial 716-845-5100, push "0" and ask for Michael. Otherwise your request will go to the general reservation line and the discount will not be honored. Be sure to ask Michael for the special National Lifespan Respite Conference rates using the code "NLRC0429".


Special Needs/Accommodations

For an ADA accessible sleeping room, please call the hotel and request it at the time you make your hotel reservation. Please call Reservations at 716-845-5100, push "0" and ask for Michael. Let him know you are with the National Lifespan Respite Conference (CODE "NLRC0429"). Please be sure to specify your accessibility needs. Some rooms have grab bars and/or roll in showers or may be hearing accessible only. There are a limited number of accessible rooms, so please reserve them early.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your conference registration before April 18, 2019, you will be entitled to a full refund of the registration fee that you paid. On or after April 18, a late cancellation fee of $50 will be withheld from your reimbursement. On or after April 23, 2019, no refund will be permitted.

Lifespan Respite Grantee and Partner Learning Symposium 

April 30, 2019

with a wine and cheese reception the evening of April 29, 2019.

The Lifespan Respite Grantee and Partner Learning Symposium sponsored by the ARCH Lifespan Respite Technical Assistance Center precedes the National Lifespan Respite Conference on April 30, 2019, at the same location (reception on April 29 from 5-7 pm). There is no charge for the Grantee/Partner Symposium, but registration is required. You must be a Lifespan Respite grantee agency or a designated stakeholder from a State Respite Coalition or ADRC to attend. Participation is by invitation only.
